Read along with the GPS folks

If you'd like to look at some of the material Second's GPS task force is looking at to prepare a strategic plan, here's a reading list of books and Web sites. Feel free to read along with the task force. And if you have questions, comments or ideas for other material we should consider, send them to secondplan11@gmail.com or put a note in the church file folder of Bill Tammeus, the GPS moderator.

  • The Great Emergence, by Phyllis Tickle. A wonderful long-term context setter for all the turmoil going on now in Christianity. Found at: http://amzn.to/kVH85r.

  • Three books from PCUSA Research Services: A Field Guide to U.S. Congregations, Beyond the Ordinary: Ten Strengths of U.S. Congregations and Places of Promise: Finding Strength in Your Congregation’s Location.
